Getting the Wheeling Fever
I live in San Diego and I bought a jerry-can a month ago and i was told that only the ones with the "stupid plastic supposed to be spillproof when you pour gasoline "cap are legal to be sold in CA. but it leaked all over the place even when i was not using it. i would like to get one with the metal cap or if there is something else that is better? is there a website where i could get one?

Not available in CA. Cannot be shipped to CA by any retail outlet. If you have a friend in AZ . . .

Are you talking about the metal caps? I had the CA Legal plastic cap on my Jerry Can and it leaked all over the place too. It was really annoying and smelly. I was able to order the Metal Jerry Can Lid from this website, and they shipped it to CA.

Hope this helps. If there is something else better than the metal lid, let me know too....Cause I haven't tried it out yet, but anything was better than that plastic lid that was leaking like crazy....

I was actually talking about the old fashion Jerry cans . . . all metal cans. I mis-read the original post. I have no experience with the metal caps.

Has anyone had experience with the SCEPTER brand jerry cans?
I am looking at buying a jerry can and that looks like a solid brand. Unless it would be better to get a metal can.

I am just wondering what kind of experience you guys have had with different brands of Jerry Cans?

I have a used Scepter jerry can that a local wheeler gave to me. Looks like it has seen some abuse, but it also looks very durable. The plastic wall is THICK. The seal is great. I have had it in the house and have not smelled any gasoline molecules. I've found other gas cans really fail here.

BTW, I was going to purchase a new Scepter before this free one came along. I will probably buy another Scepter jerry can in the next three months.
