Note, the Aussie in back will change how your vehicle drives a bit, increase tire wear, and may make it a little "jumpy" around neighborhood corners. It's a great locker - just remember to install it with factory shims - and I'm not knocking it.. My suggestion would be to put it up front.

Maybe if you live in TX for those who use their 4x4 in the snow on a regular basis, then no.

Why, due to the highway issues is causes in snow and ice when locking the hubs?

In slippery conditions it will not unlock making driving dangerous to say the least. When we get a good snow or freezing rain I drive all over the place in 4wd for the added control. Without that control there is no point really. You may as well be in 2wd.

i run 16s on my truck, but only because they were basically free. 16" tires are much more expensive, there is less sidewall, and the tires tend to be a higher load range than what we need (or want) on our trucks.

ditto on the locker, but put it in the back. you can make really big tires fit with a bit of creativity. i have a 1" body lift, extra leaf in the rear, and bj spacers and i fit 35s with no rubbing at all.
