You must have a very goofy looking truck. 9" of lift with 32" tires? Is that what I understand from your post. That should not be necessary. How wide are they? Seeing as a taco can fit 33" tires with 3" lift (or go the road of a lot of trimming) then what the hell happened with your rig?

I happen to have an 04 taco. I was told that 32" Good Year MTR tires would fit well under my little taco.

Can you post pics (of the rubbing / fender damage) or email them to me and I'll post. Thanks.

9" lift for 32's?? Surely not. The consensus is that I'll rub when I turn deep, or articulating the truck. The question is, will they fit for onroad use, at least until I get a small lift?

Thanks!

Most likely they will rub the frame when turning all the time. But that might also depend on the (backspacing of the) wheels you're using. On the road, rubbing on the pinch weld probably won't be horrible.

With this lift and the 32's, what kind of power decrease should I expect with the 2.7L? Will these make the truck unacceptably sluggish at highway speeds?

Thanks again!

I know the 32's sound like a great deal. I too got a great deal on my 32's. I wish someone had told me what i'm telling you... i would go a couple of inches smaller. I thought my 32's would be so cool, and now a couple of grand later i have tires that finaly won't rub and fiberglass fenders to fit. And a hacked up bumper. Especially if you don't offroad that much... stick with a 30" or 31" if you want to be adventurous. I have a 2.4 L... not much smaller than your engine, and the only way i can do 90 in my truck is downhill pedel to the floor and the hands of god pushing. highway is 60's ... and hills...well i'm doing 50 sometimes 40MPH. Gas milage!? HA! I have wider exhaust, i have a cold air intake, and still i haven't gotten all my power back. I have damned good traction on mud and I can drive through almost anything muddy offroad with my "skiis" as i call them... But if this is just to drive on road and you don't want to "big" lift... get yourself 30's and don't worry about the hassle. A couple hundred dollars now can save you a couple of grand later on down the road. I sent some photos the moderator with only a 6" lift and you will see what i'm talking about. Good luck...

I disagree, I think somehow you have had some bad experiences with lifting trucks and such. 31" tires come stock and should do just fine, suggesting 30" tires doesnt really make sense if it comes larger from the factory. 32" tires would be fine and would not take many modifications to fit (depending on width, backspacing and lift). There would likely be a noticable power loss but you could compensate with regearing if needed. And redtruck, you mentioned in your other post that you had to have 9" of lift to fit 32s, on an 04 that doesnt make any sense?

I saw the pics. But before I saw those, I was assuming you had a 4WD or factory Prerunner, not a 2wd pickup. Those take quite a bit more work before the tire clearances we were talking about will work. Sorry for the confusion and all the frustration you had getting enough room to make your tires work.
