Just FYI - Jiffy Lube has a "T-Tech" machine that hooks up to the tranny coolant lines and does a "total" ATF fluid exchange of old to new. "Total" in quotes b/c I've read where even this does not clear the old fluid 100%, but I think this gets as close as possible. Cost including fluid is $99. I bought Amsoil synthetic ATF on my own, and Jiffy Lube used my fluid, and gave me a break on the cost of the exchange. I agree that dropping the pan probably isn't necessary unless you've got a problem, and well, if you've got a tranny problem, my sympathies to you.
