As a follow up to AdamF's note about Jiffy Lube (see thread) - I hunted around for a new place to get my tranny flushed. I went to Pep Boys, Continental Transmission, and Valvoline, to name a few. Pricing was all about the same, $99, BUT, I found the guys at Valvoline to be the most knowledgeable, and they included both cleaning and protecting additives. I got a nice coupon discount, and the manager offered to re-check after a week's worth of driving to be sure all the moisture was out of my tranny.

If you are going to have this done, I suggest interviewing a bunch of shops (not everyone does the full tranny flush) to make sure you know what you're getting. At least for me, Valvoline did a great job. Thanks AdamF.
