Getting the Wheeling Fever
Call me crazy or stupid but right now I am working on a six mounth dead line to get my rodeo done for when I leave to school. Long list of mods but I have started so they gotta get done. First on the list is the paint which is done I will post up pics the color I choose is sour apple looks like mt dew green. Then there come the fun stuff keep in mind I have every thing but the heim joints.

-sas w/d44w/ 456s ff that will be 3 linked using tj 8 inch lift coils
-rear axle swap 4 linked dana 70 w/disc brakes and 456s
-37 inch ssr radials on 16 inch diy beadlocks
-4.3 tbi out of a 91 s10 with full rebulid bigger cam and other misc goodies
-sm465 with rockwell transfer case
-full exo cage with rocksliders and bumpers incorperated(have all of the tubing)

I am pretty sure that is all in six mounths no prob I already have the paint done and some of the tubes bent up and the ifs off the truck. I think that is a good start maybe.

is this your daily driver? are you depending on it to get you to/around school? if so, with your mod list and your firm time table, you might be setting yourself up for a world of hurt! ...proceed with caution!

a couple of thoughts....

is 4.56 going to be enough gearing for you with 37's and that american motor? it might be a little on the tall side.

why 3-link front with 4-link rear? if you drive it on the street, you might want to consider matching with a 4-link front. The single point of failure on a 3-link can cause devestating results if it lets go on the highway... I've seen the results first hand.

why rockwell tcase? thats one big heavy pig, and i'm not sure the rest of your driveline warrents it. there are other non expensive and still plenty strong choices that may give you weight/clearance savings.

Good luck though... sounds like an interesting project, lots of work ahead of ya!

Sounds like a cool project... but is it too late to vote against the SSR's? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

OK, Sean, I'll bite...
Why not run SSRs?

My future plans for the Rodeo include 35x10.50s - which is a size I haven't seen very much of, aside from the SSR.

SSR is a horrible tire, bad off road and costly. by a TSL radial if you're looking for something on the road, you'll have a much better bite and a cheaper tire.

The reason for the ssr tire is that I got 4 of them with the stickers on them still for 400 dollars cash figured I couldnt beat it.

well, for that price, i probably would have done the same. You'll like their road manors. A SSR is nothing more than a TSL with closer lug spacing (ie better on road, less bite offroad).
