Yup, this is about par for the course... or you can keep out of the mud/water!

Most part stores offering reman'd alternators give you a limit lifetime warrenty (ie, a single replacement throughout its life)... so, take advantage of this and you'll only be paying $100 for every other one.

Until I can afford a new one, I'll get the ones with a 6 month warranty (limited lifetime) and then it won't be so bad.
