Body Damage is Cool
Looking at the Jeep website I don't see any vehicles offered with the 2.8 CRD for 2007. Not to mention the 3.0 CRD that was supposed to debut in the Grand

From Automobile.com (referring to the '07 Grand Cherokee)

All that power has to come from somewhere, and now its time to talk about the Mercedes-built 3.0-liter Common-Rail Diesel, originally designed for the Mercedes-Benz Groups luxury sedans and SUVs, and now making its first appearance in a Chrysler Group product in North America. This V6 promises efficient, uncompromised power with an expected 30 percent improvement in fuel economy over an equivalent gas-powered engine. Its one of the first new-generation European diesels to hit North America, combining technologies like high-pressure piezo injectors, four valves per cylinder with dual overhead cams and two camshafts per cylinder, intake-port swirl control and variable geometry turbochargers.

I hope diesels have not failed to get traction in the American market again <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

At least I can hope that they sold enough in 2006 so that I can someday score one at a wrecking yard for a swap into my Toyota. -- Matt

Need a Spot
The diesels sold twice as many as they thought they would, only quit when they ran out of engines. The new 3.0 CRD Grand is in the works. The 2.8 CRD KJ couldn't pass the new emissions without some serious work, there is a possibility that it will be back in some form 2008.
