Nope, they won't fit the odd ball 98 carrier. I tried. The opening is physically too small to get the unit in where the spider gears had been.

Heres a pic of the size difference between my '98 Amigo "odd-ball carier" and the '99 Trooper part I used for the install. The difference is as much as it looks.

One thing I am curious about though. It looks like the SOTF front ends are the same as the non SOTF units, and they just bolted the SOTF unit on to the end of the old housing. anyone know for sure?
