Getting the Wheeling Fever
I was woundering if anyone has experienced any slippage when off roading or on the road, I am having a problem like that where I could go to the mountain and everything is fine come home get in the jeep to go to the store down the street a little ways then I get high rpms and I dont move?
I will cycle through the gears back into drive its an (automatic) and everything is fine? I all ready changed out the trany fluid and filter used mobilone synthetic maybe that was the mistake trany shop said it was okay just use some frictioning agent to help they test drove said it drives great, the problem is intermitten I have only owned the jeep about 7mo. its a 97 straight six. does anyone have any suggestions
thank you. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Commonly what you describe is a result of low fluid or a dirty filter.. Go there first..

Yep! Has it overheated in the interim?

No it hasn't overheated to my knowledge, I am not the original owner. 2nd owner the jeep appears to have been well taken care of and some aftermarket parts put on. like a Terraflex 4" lift, 31x11.5x15 bfg muds, k&N intake walker headers magnaflow exhaust and new pipes No oil leaks any where just this occasional slipping.

I'd be looking at the filter.
