My 1991 Montero RS is runnig rough. In November of 2005, I put in a remanufactured engine and have put about 13,000 mile on it. Yesterday, it strated idle and running very rough and feels like it is missing on one or more cylinders. At first I thought that it felt it might have a burnt valve resulting in low compression. However, after checking compression, the numbers rainged from 110 to 120 lbs. The plugs all looked good. I pulled the plug wires one by one and with each, the power dropped off. For about a month, I did feel a little "miss" while idleing in gear. What are the symptoms of an injector that has gone bad? Can the injectors be checked without removing? What else should I check?
