Now that I have completed the Nutter Mod, Is it ok to remove alot of those vaccum lines and other things that no longer work to try and clean up the motor some?

Sorry if this info is posted somewhere, I could not find anything referencing it.

Since we have no smog on those jeeps here I take all of it out! I cut off all the dangling plugs and wires back into the loom they emerge from.. I get it real clean under there..

It depends on who you ask. The Federal Gov. says it's not OK, illegal in fact, to do any mods to the emissions system. Will the Jeep run OK with out all that crap on it? heck yeah! The CJ formerly known as mine has one vacuum line from the carb to the distributor and runs like a top.

Thank you both for the input. I gutted the engine compartment real good. OMG there is actually an engine under all those wires and vaccum lines.

Yep...pretty much my engine compartment too. LOL.
I even went so far as to trace all the computer wires back and took them all out. Since that goofy diagnostic tester hookup was all entangled in there, that went too.
Wowzers. There was about 200 feet of wiring and vaccuum hoses that I took out after I got done!

But...I also live in South Dakota. We don't have no stinkin' smog checks. smile

You can't say the "N" word around these parts. Watch it!
