While we wait for others to post, here is a little beauty I recently picked up. Built in 1996, but looks new. Well, im glad you like my Ruger. Seriously, that is the exact same rifle as mine. Stainless with oak stock. Except mine has a BSA reddot and sling on it, as well as a butt guard and it doesnt have the silver ring towards the end of the stock. Im ordering a muzzle break for it when i get the chance. They make some pretty crazy mods for that little gun, the least of which is that 30 round bananna clip. A friend has one with a folding synthetic stock, muzzle break, scope, and 30 round clip. Looks like an assault rifle, without the paper work. -J Jordan Brown in Athens Georgia I hate Chuck Norris. BTW, I met Chuck Norris @ Sunday's on the Bay in '86 or '87 when I lived in Miami. I was heading for the bar and he was standing alone on the stairs leading up from the boat dock. I said hello and patted him on the top of his head (he is Tom Cruise short) and asked if I could buy him a beer. He got a little red faced and was gone when I returned from the bar. I have not fired my 10/22 yet, but it does look like fun.

Here's my latest Toy. It's a Bushmaster M4A3 with a 16" barrel and detachable carry handle. I've recently added some goodies, including Surefire X200 LED light (also fits my Glocks) forestock rail, foregrip, new rubber grip, single point quick release sling and an EOTech 512 site. Future mod will probably be to replace the entire forestock with a 4 rail stock. This is looking through the EOTech 512 site. Spendy little sucker, but I love it! ![[Linked Image]](http://www.brian894x4.com/BushmasterM4A3x02x.jpg)

That was my point the Black Gun term, in the gun circles I associate with, usually describes a firearm that is intended for a use other than hunting or recreation. The AK family, M16 family, Stoner, and etc. are good examples.

Now my 7mm Ultra Mag...it's not a 7mm, not a 7mm magnum. It's a earth shattering, shoulder killing 7mm ULTRA MAG. Crazy 3700 fpt muzzle velocity. After two shots you start to anticipate the pain People next to you at the range request to be moved farther way. Makes a 308 feel like a 22. I can get 2 inch group but after about three shots i'm done
A hunting buddy of mine has said thunderstick, the 7mm Ultramag. If I recall, its around 35-45 pounds of recoil with each squeeze. Earthshattering and shoulder killing are the proper terms to describe it, along with 'pack an extra pair of underwear', as my friend so eloquently put it. I too managed three shots on it. It makes my 835 feel like a tater gun. Of course, you always have the billy bad es on forums who claim to 'really not notice the recoil'...My guess is they are either former artillery gunners, or paralyzed from the toes up. Last I went out into the woods with him a few years back, he struck a button buck a little forward of the lungs, more towards the neck, and darn near severed its head. Its jerky, without all the trouble of the processing.

Speaking of deer jerky, does anyone make their own? If so I would love to buy some. I don't know too many people that hunt, much less make their own jerky.
Nice piece Brian. Question though, what all would you put on the quad rail besides a light and laser? Just curious.

I watched the new Future Weapons Monday, and they showed a semi auto .50 cal sniper rifle. No bolt action. Aparently it has some sort of new recoil system that allows 5 shots in 1-2 seconds while keeping the grouping at a few inches(at 100yds I think, maybe closer). I would love to own a .50 cal rifle! That thing was sick. I would love to get my hands on it! The Barret http://www.barrettrifles.com/rifle_82.aspxAnother one I like is the Heckler and Koch XM-8. It's a couple of guns in one that they developed for the military. http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/ground/m8-oicw.htmThe Tavor was also featured on Future Weapons that I thought was cool. It has a Bullpup design that kept the weight on the shoulder so that you didn't wander so much. http://www.defense-update.com/directory/tavor.htmUnder my bed lays a Ruger 10-22 that is nice for cheap shooting, and I have a 20 gauge shotgun that I use for clay birds. Both are fun to shoot without killing your arm.

Thanks. I was thinking about mounting the EOTech site on top of a quadrail, so I could retain use of the handle and it's rear site for back up.

The Barret is a very nice rifle, the recoil is on the order of a 12 ga shotgun but the pressure-wave from the muzzle-brake is very muck like getting hit in the chest with a fist. The 50 bmg round it fires will kill a vehicle out to about 2000 meters. The 50 bmg has actually been around since before WWII and is still use by the US military today in the 50 cal Browning machine-gun.
