Getting the Wheeling Fever
i recently picked up a 1993 isuzu trooper. it has the 3.2 sohc engine. the front of the engine is tore off exposing the timing beltsright now. the previous owner said it ran fine one day, the next day it wouldn't start so he thought it had a broken timing chain. he siad it would crank over just fine. he was trying to change the crank sensor however it snapped off with part still in the block. any ideas how to get this out?

also, does this symptom sound like a crank sensor was the problem or do you think something else is the problem.

thanks,
jeff

Uh, ya, if the crank sensor is broken, it more than likely won't be able to start. The crank sensor tells the computer where the crank is in its revolution so that it knows when to inject fuel and when to set off the spark plug. So, if it doesn't know where it's at, it doesn't know when to do the other stuff, thus the no start.

the crank sensor is broke now. it wasn't broke prior to not starting. the owner decided to change it and snapped it off trying to remove it.
