 leak with fuel injector

When I go to start my Jeep (87 Cherokee), fuel is leaking through the fuel injectors (not all, but some). They were dry for awhile and I'm wondering if that took its toll on things and now there's a leak. Can I just get the O-Rings and be set, or should I be getting all new injectors? And should I get both sets of O-Rings or just the ones toward the end that leaks? Thanks for any input!

You may be able to get away with just replacing the O ring seals on the leaking injectors; change all O rings on any injectors you remove. However, if it were me, as old as the jeep is, I'd bite the bullet and replace all the injectors and seals. High milage injectors some times develop an internal leak through the seam at the electrical connector and O ring seals will have no effect on these leaks.

I mostly agree with Big Jim Except I would (in this case) replace all the o rings including the injectors that aren't leaking yet. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

i have a 89 cherokee and last winter when it got really cold 3 of mine started to leak. I replaced the o rings and they were leaking from the injector so just went and got new ones. But the other 3 are fine this winter and its been pretty cold. So its not hard to pull the injectors its only like 3 bolts so i would try the o ring but like in my case i jsut replaced them all it will do will help your gas mileage with new injectors

I guess I need to make myself more clear. If I had 2 or more leaking I would replace ALL the o's. I would pull one off and look to see if it matches one in my supply in the jar. If not then off to the parts house I'd go. Big JIm <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" />

well I decided to just try the o's. hopefully it will take care of it. like i said before (I think), not all of them are leaking, but I did get all new o-rings since the car hasn't ran in quite awhile. thanks for all the input.
