Hey everyone, I just opened my hood on the \'85 to check my oil, and I noticed that the hose that connects to the PCV Valve is wet with oil, and there is some dripping of oil underneath the hose clamp on the valve. Is this normal, or a sign of something bad? Also, my oil was like a quart low.. Ive found that the bottom of my truck is coated with a light film of oil (the block, tranny, and some of the front frame rail), but I\'ve never noticed a leak anywhere.. where would be a good place to start looking for a leak? Thanks for any input guys!

Could be a clogged PCV valve (jiggle it, can you hear something rattling?) or could be bad piston rings causing blow by.

Here's another post just the other day with similar problems

Front oil seal or oil pump seal are common places to look for leaks.

If that hose is old and cracked, oil can leak out. Try a new hose and see if that fixes that leak. It worked for my '85.

If it does leak at those places, what does that imply?

That the front oil seal is leaking I suppose. Often associated with a groove in the crankshaft pulley that may require a speedi-sleeve to correct (along with a new seal).
