Can you get a pair of vice grips on it? I've never welded a bolt to a stripped bolt; but I have had good luck in the past welding on a nut. With the hole in the middle, it makes for an easy plug weld.

Hi,
What about drilling with a left handed bit? .....Works most of the time for me!

As mentioned, vise grips, if it is too tight then I would dremel a slot & chisel if the drilling didn't work. Usually the head will snap in half, then you have a better "chunk" to vise-grip to. If THAT doesn't work, then I would cut the rest off & at that point it should be pretty easy to get out (not even hand-tight). If it is rusted in place, the only solution is to drill.

I wouldn't weld anywhere near anything you don't want to warm or be permantly damaged from the heat.

I changed out a cracked head on my 2000 Amigo, after rounding one of the Allen head bolts I learned my lesson. Before attempting to loosen a head bolt, smack the Allen head socket used to remove the bolt a few times with a hammer. Hit straight down on the socket driving it into the Allen bolt. This makes them come out without busting a knuckle. When I rounded off that first one, I hammered a torx bit into the Allan head to remove it. This is how I discovered how easy it was to remover the head bolts after they have had a few love taps.

'94, and '00 Amigos and '00, 01 Rodeos. Rodeo springs and aftermarket 'hard top on 94. Aisin hubs OME 919's on the 2000 Amigo. 2000 and 2001 Rodeos have OME 912's and Aisin. Smoother ride with the OME 919's???

Either this or pounding a 12-point socket onto it may help. On my old Mercedes 300D, I was always dealing with stripped allen-head bolts, and this method worked like a charm. After that, take the socket back to Sears for a free replacement!

Well, i had decided to weld a bolt into the old allen hole
the weld was solid and i mad sure to use a strong bolt a
9.8 tesile strengh, any how that did not work because
the bolt broke. I think this head bolt is rusted into the
block cuz i was using a lot of slow but strong force to
get this succer out and nothing.

I guess the net step is the nut aproach.
Ill let you guys know how it goes.

Just did the same thing taking a cam tower bolt out. Just hammer a torx bit in and slowly back the bolt out. Worked for me.
