hi, i will never use a easy out on bolts, they are just too easy to snap in teh bolt.

you can drill any type of bolt even HIGH TENSILE , but u will have to use a BRAND NEW drill bit , .
i have had bolts break while undoing !!! a head, i get a grinder/cutting wheel, make sure the bolt is level with teh surrounding surface , then drill it out , and then put a heli coil in it .

Getting the Wheeling Fever
I GOT IT, I GOT IT OFF, Tthe Bolt is off
HEre is how I did it, i have pics of it but I'll put them late, unfortunately it is not the easiest way.
You will need:

-9/16 bolt 1 1/2" no less a bit more ok gut the longer it is the easier it is to brake, and a nut (dont be cheap buy the strongest one you can get. If need a smaller one so the nut will clear the camshaft lower seats.
-a welder (mig or tig)
-wet rags (to protect all parts from spatter and fire)
-patince (allow time for weld to cool in steps)

with the bolt on hand screw the nut on it, now grind the tip of bolt so it will fit into the head bolt, also grind the nut in a lug nut type of shape making sure not grind more than 1/2 of the sides

to make it easier remove the rocker arms and camshaft, trust me it is worth it in order to get a good solid weld.

tap the bolt with a hammer down to brake the stress. place the bolt into the head bolt and tack it as straigh as possible, (make sure the nut is in the bolt but backed off all the way to the head. once the bolt is tacked and good,
make good small weld as far around as possible. try to keep it small, (this is not the weld that will pull the bolt off
so take it easy. Wait till it cools off.

Now unwind the nut untill it reaches the weld. (this is were you have to make sure the nut will not hit the camshaft bed once you turn if it does go to a smaller bolt and nut combination. weld the "V" shaped part of the nut to the existing weld (this is the weld that has to be good)
and on top of nut tack it to the bolt, make sure that it does not interfere with a socket that has to fit the nut.
once again wait till it cools, now with a 6soded socket try to undo the bolt, slow and steady wins the race.
If it comes off congrats. If the bolt brakes between head and nut. no worries that was just the second best solution.

now that the head is off grab a socket to grab the nut and twist it off.

My came off at this point but if it did not i had one last
trick (this was the most dangerous). but at this point it is all or nothing.
Make sure the #3and 4 pistons are between TDC and BDC drop both valves into the combustion chamber (thiswill give you room to come in with a oxy acet. torch at at 90 degree angle to the bolt and yet not direct much heat into the head. and torch off the bolt head.

Once again ill get the pics up so you wont have to scratch your head with all my bla bla bla.

This doesn't really help now, but it's a good next time thing. The exact same thing happened to me, but I got a pair of vice grips on it and it came out. I figured out that because there was oil in the bolt head, it created a kind of reverse suction thing in the allen head and the socket hadn't gone down all the way. Now I take a paper towel and get all the oil out of there to it grips well.

I bet it was the center bolt on the exhaust side right? When this happened to me I got a drill bit that was about the same size as the shaft of the head bolt and drilled down into the hex head. The idea is to use a bit big enough to cut the head off the bolt, but not much bigger. I used rags and a magnet to catch the shavings. It took a big 1/2" drill but pretty soon I had a headless head bolt. The rest of the head bolts came out without issue, and the head lifted off over the headless bolt.

Then with the head out of the way and all the tension off the bolt I could tap it on the side a few times with a hammer to loosen it up. It turned out with just vice grips and a few taps. I originally stripped it out using a t-handle with pipe on either end and the help of a friend trying to break the bolt loose, but without all the stress on it it came right out. If it had not come out, I was expecting to use the torch to heat it up
