87 Raider Rear Defog Timer - Where is it? #781619 01/19/07 02:31 PM

I can't seem to find the rear defogger timer on my 87 Raider. Alldata says its on the passenger side kick panel. I pulled one from an 89 Lwb and found it there, but not on my 87. There's no plug there either, like if it was removed.

Anyone know where it's at?

Dave

Body Damage is Cool
An 87 Raider, if it's like my 87 Montero, doesn't have a rear defrost timer. When the window's clear, you have to turn it off.

Our 91 had it, but I think it was something that came along about 88-89.

87 Montero, bought new, by me -
88/89 intercooled Starion Turbo engine-
with awesome audio.

That clears it up. (no pun intended) It don't have the 87 switch cause I pulled it out due to the grid being bad. I swapped the glass from another truck recently, but its switch is a momentary type switch. I assume your 87 switch will stay in the on position, right?

Thanks for setting me staight,

Dave

If you already bought the timer, I might be interested. My 4dr stays on all the time, or at least the one (only 1) lateral defogs must fine with no intervention from me at the switch, and the switch indicator light stays on.
