I am getting a thump from my rear differential. Is it the ring gear or could it be something else?

Thump? Hmmm...probably not. Sounds more like a ujoint or sticking brakes than gears. Or something in the suspension like a bad shock, worn shackle bushing, etc.

It is only there when power is applied. At coast the thump goes away, the second power is applied the thump starts. I'll
tinker around a bit, perhaps I missed something. Thx

Ya, that's what I'm thinking. Pretty sure I'm going to have to rip into it and replace it. Zuk you sell stuff right? Where do I go to take a look?

Probably going to lock the rear end finally as well. I did not find an aussie locker for the rear of a 91 v6. Do they make it? I need value and dependabilty, as well as ease of installation. I will be doing this myself for the first time and want it done right too. I can rip the 3.0 apart but have only replaced gaskets on the diffs before. I have read up a bit in the search forums any added advice/info is definately welcome.
