Ive got a question on an engine that Im rebuilding. I bought it for a song so I cant complain about its condition. It came complete, manifold to manifold. But, the prev owner said he hydrolocked it. Id have to say he wasnt lying. 3 of the rods were bent and the #4 cylinder wall was gouged pretty good.
It looks to me that the gouge is low enough on the wall that the rings wont come close to contacting it.
Whaddya think? Is this block still servicable(without a bank loan)? Im not sure if i should bother taking it to a shop. My original plan was to get it tanked, bored and decked. Then a full EB kit. This discovery kinda put the brakes on things.
Thanks for your input fellas.
