That gouge is from the rod slamming on the cylinder wall. The bend in the #3 rod was so severe that it couldnt be pulled through the top of the block.
But even with all the carnage the cylinder walls all look pristene. Heck, the main & rod bearings were in good condition and unspun. When you suck in an uncompressable fluid (WATER)through the intake somethings gotta give. I think im going to frame the #3 rod. or maybe a hood ornament. Better yet gold plate it and hang it around my neck for some original bling.
Without v blocks and a mic I cant tell if the crank is damaged. It looks fine but only a shop will be able to tell for sure.
Hopefully next week Ill be able to drop this thing off at the shop.
