At 9:30 AM PST I cannot connect to the lawvision ftp server. The connection times out. FYI.

I can get in now. I may hold off until after work to try downloading, lest I tip off the network admin to what I'm doing. Thanks for hosting this!

Success!

I used the .ZIP files since the .ISO files would not behave properly on my computer (XP pro). The ISO files came up as some ROXIO easy-CD creator file that wanted to immediately burn a CD without letting me give the CD the appropriate title.

The .ZIP files worked much better, and were a faster download to boot. My unzip program burped a little over a file called IMAGEF in the A1 folder, but I skipped it and the program still seems to work.

I used the install CD to update my existing version of the EPC driver. I then was able to load up the A1 and A2 CD's via the CD setup menu as described in the install instructions.
These CD's only contain data for trucks and 4runners from 1988 or newer. The EPC CD's on the yankeetoys.com site cover the earlier years of trucks and 4runners, but only up to 1995.

So, if I want to view parts for my 1985 4runner, I have to use the CD setup menu to load up my older CD's. Then when I want to view parts for a newer truck (post-1995), I have to use the CD setup menu again to reload these new CD's from Mike. It's no major deal, just a bit of time for the reloads.

The new CD's work well, but I noticed two things off the bat. First, some of the late model 4runner sections did not have images (could not access image) so they didn't work. This may or may not be related to that IMAGEF file I mentioned above. Who knows?
Second, the part number application to models (#2 on main menu screen) does not work for me. It never did work on my earlier version either, so I don't know where the problem lies. It sounds like this feature was working for you Mike? Any comments?

excellent. i would love to download it. my T100 and 4runner are both made in japan, so that does not help you, but i will give you the VIN on the T100 if you want to check it.

Thanks.

I am glad that it works. It works even smoother when you ask the program to copy the files onto the hard disk. I had to fiddle quite a bit in order to understand how the program works, but after a few installs you will get it right.

If you have a message that the appropriate image is not available it might often mean that you particular model does not have the part. I have such messages when I try to click auto-transmission components ( I have a manual). The thing is that some VIN numbers can be applied to two vehicle versions. For example when I insert my VIN number, I am presented with two vehicles to choose from (one auto, the other manual), and I choose the one that suits me.

If you are eager to see the particular part, even though its not for your truck, you should click the Mchoff/Mchon button, which means 'match on/off'. If you switch it to off you will see all the parts (because they don't necessarily need to MATCH your vehicle).

The issue with the wrong file is easy to solve. Just give me the exact filename and I will upload it separately.

If you have any questions, just post it here for everyone to see.
