Getting the Wheeling Fever
Ok it is time to buy gears for my Jeep. I want 4.56 front and back with a soft lock for both. The problem is the number of suppliers of gears which one do I get. I have thought about getting Yukons, but what have you experienced as far as gears and why. My jeep is a 85 cj7 amc 20, dana 30 solid one piece axles in the back. Any advice would be appreciated.

Body Damage is Cool
Well, I just saw a guy strip some brand new Yukon Gears, He's waiting on word about warranty. Maybe it was a bad install I don't know (I didn't do it!). I wouldn't buy the cheapest ones, For Dana differentials the best gears are Dana/Spicer Gears. That's what I'd get.

There are probably very percise gear manufacturers, but you have an old Jeep! Yukon's have a good reputation in the aftermarket, in fact, a mechanic on this board,Superdawg, highly recommends these gearsets. I personally am not now using Yukon gears, and would be hardput to remember just what now is in the 94 YJ.

94 YJ, SOA, 2-1/2 Alcans, ARB-front, Detroit-Rear, 4.56:1 gears, Oasis Trailhead compressor, 4:1 Terra Lo, 37x12.50x15 SSR's, 8000 lb Ramsey, & etc.

i am currently running Yukons and have had no problems. They were very easy to set up. I also had Yukons in my previous rearends and never had any problems out of them either. would highly recommend.
