Or you can just use your old cover, in the cabinet of the garage, that has the wear marks thru 'em C'mon, you know you got one. A paper weight, AND a template.

The Brother PTouch laminated label maker works wonders. The labels stick to all the hoses and wires even after your nasty fingers have been all over them and the labels don't soak up oil like masking tape and sharpie. People laugh at me because a leave all the little white labels still attached but you never hear me asking where does this go?
X2 on digi pictures, you can print them, blow them up, write on them with sharpie, and then thumbtack them on a board for quick reference.

Thanks to all for the great advice! I got started pulling everything apart two days ago and am almost ready to disconnect the clutch and tranny. I'll keep yall posted and post a pic now and then.

The FSM says to remove the bond cables on the RH side and rear of the engine. I don't see anything more to remove except the fuel line and the clutch slave. Can anyone tell me what a "bond cable" is and where to find it?
Thanks, Bevoman

Probably the ground strap that runs from the head to the firewall. There are lots of redundant grounds on these machines, so yours may have been removed by a PO.

Makes sense . . . there is one such wire that I overlooked. Thanks Dave!

We pulled Bevoman's motor yesterday after a fine lunch of sammys and Smithwick's. The starter made quick work of the crank bolt, and actually remembering to remove the starter made quicker work of removing the motor...
The PO didn't exactly take real good care of this truck! Now the nasty greasy work begins. I think he'll need a case of brake cleaner!
