Getting the Wheeling Fever

How many RPM's should my 94 4-Runner be running at when I'm doing 55 MPH? It's all original, 3.0L, auto tranny with 31X10.50 R15LT tires. I never paid much attention to the tach before,but last night I was going 55MPH & the tach was reading between 2200 & 2300RPM. Is that normal? My buddy has a gmc jimmy & when at 55MPH his tach reads only about 1500RPM. Just wondering, Thanks
