Ok, this is seriously driving me insane. When I bought my Jeep Wrangler, the stereo system was working perfectly fine. After a while, I removed the alarm system that the jeep came with. I for got to look at it to see if the stereo was connected to it or not. After I removed the alarm system, the stereo continued working and was fine for about a week. After that it just went dead. Occationaly it will kick back on every 4 t 6 weeks and work for a few second. It's killing me. I tested the wiring and found out that there was no power going to it. I followed all of the wiring that connects to the stereo to all the other connectors and still can not find a problem. So I took my jeep to a Stereo Installation place and they can't seem to fix it as well. Does anyone have and idea what's going on?

All it needs is 12v and a ground.. If you do NOT have em...get em! If you have both and it still skips... Get another one.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
In a nut shell I agree with bigJim, you didn't mention anything about checking the fuse. I would start there also you might want to pull the fuse and check your hotwire (+) to ground using a ohm,or multi meter make sure the wire isn't shorted, after that short one end to ground with no power applied and check the other end to varify you have no opens in the wire. also with everything hooked back up and power on check your connections wiggle them maybe a wire pulled out of the connector and it needs to be reseated.

I am goin to have to say that it is a hot or ground wire... get a test light and check.. as for ground... you can get a multi meter and run a continuity test...
