Kewlynx, Aldready had the alt out and checked the brushs, All kinds of length and they wernt stuck. Put it back in and still "no good". Check all the wiring, fuse links etc. all checked out. I'm thinking the volt reg is probably pooched because with out opening it up I couldn't see any burning etc. Also checked continuity across the brush slip rings and that seemed OK. Didn't check the stator coil because I don't know what proper readings are. I'm just trying to get things going asap as I have to work outside and its -25c not counting the wind chill. I running two batteries right now and charging them overnight just to keep me mobile for going to work.
