Need a Spot
I have a weber 38 on a rebuilt 258 w/ msd offroad6. I am experiencing hard starts (good cranking) and stalling. Thought it may have been electrical because it seemed to turn over as I was letting the key off the start position. Tried starting fluid and fired up. Rebuilt and cleaned carb, fuel filter is good. Jeep runs good as ever when it's running but dies immediately in a stall and takes 30 seconds or so to restart. Could this be an ICU issue? It's been running fine w/ this setup for three years, now all of the sudden...

My first thought would be lectric.. Coil or spark box..
Would it trouble you greatly to tell us a bit more about the year of your Jeep?

the drivetrain is ALL '80, ground up rebuild in 2000, including full painless harness, msd ignition, msd blaster coil, accell wires. just replaced the ignition switch thinking that may be problem-it wasn't. alternator has been running up & down (11.5-14.5) but the battery always seems to hold the proper charge.

Body Damage is Cool
I had a simlar problem in the AMC V8 in my CJ. Turned out to be a bad magnetic pickup in the Motorcraft distributor.
