ok it starts/ runs normal when the temp out side is above 40. when it is cold below 40 when you turn the key on, not to start, the check engine light does not come on. if you crank on it it will not start if you wait for the check engine light it will fire right up. the colder it gets outside the longer it take for the light to come on. i think it has something to do with the auto shutdown. if i have someone turn the key to on while i am under the hood i can hear and feel the auto shutdown relay trip and the fuel pump prime relay trip, in that order, and the light comes on at the same time as the first relay trips. i have checked all connection i can think of, switched relays around nothing seems to make a differce. i cant find a good wiring diagram. i am thinking it might have something to do with the heated o2 sensor but i am not sure enough to get a new sensor.
