As for the weight, the maximum gross vehicle weight in stock condition for you're '91 is 5350 lbs. Individual max weights are 2600lbs for the front and 3000lbs for the rear.

However, you could go over this, if you changed out springs. If you were significantly over 5400lbs, you might consider adding a full floating axle.

Beyond that, the biggest and best brakes that will fit for safety.

Overseas trucks of the same generation had a rear axle capcity of almost 3500lbs, while the front remained 2600lbs, which I believe ups their total GVW to about 5850lbs, yet I believe the only difference between their trucks and ours was springs. I don't think they even came will full floaters.
