Will changing to hotter/cooler plugs have as much effect on a 2.4L 4-stroke engine as it does on 2-stroke engines?

You shouldn't need to change heat ranges unless you are turbo or supercharging. On my turbo motor, I run plugs that are one range colder than stock. Go too cold and they will foul, go too hot and they'll cause detonation.

on my '94 3.0 I went 1 step colder. running Bumped timing. They look text book perfect. If I had to pass emissions I'd just throw the stock plugs in for the inspection.
