Well I'm trying to solve one of the few last issues that the new Amigo came with. The previous owner claims that the shop that replaced his clutch broke his speedometer gear which I believe since when I removed it from the tranny it was visibly broken.
Anyways, I found one from a guy on the planet but he says it came from a 2.3L Amigo and not a 2.6, so will this work, I imagine no since the rpm's would be different?
Thanks guys and gals

How many teeth were on the gear that you removed? I'm pretty sure I have several of them in my cabinet full of miscellaneous gearbox bits.

I'm not entirely sure to be honest. At the moment I'm back up to school. This is a picture of the one from the planet. Thanks Randii I'll let you know what I can find out.

This is a picture of the one from the planet. That's just the cable assembly that screws onto the back of the driven gear. To get the gear out, you have to remove a (10mm?) bolt and the retaining ring from the side of the transfer case. At that point, you'll be able to slide the gear out. A clutch job should not involve messing with the driven gear at all. While you have it out, *with the vehicle secured with jack stands* put the truck in neutral and spin the driveline. While you're doing this, look through the hole the driven gear came out of with a flashlight and check the condition and position of the drive gear. I can't imagine the driven gear would get chewed up without damage to the drive gear as well.

Huh. Well, the ones I have are the gear that slips on the tailshaft (the drive gear). You're welcome to those, but I don't have the partner gear (the driven gear) that is part of the speedometer drive assembly. Which do you need?
