I ordered Yukon's from PORC. Got them today. Just wanted to know what the numbers meant on the side...I know Yukon's can be any number of gears....here's the numbers

Pinion

YG-TV6-529 337 2.460

Ring

337 A6 Yg-TV6-529 304

What's that all mean? Did I get a good gear?

YG-TV6-529
YG = Yukon Gear
TV6 = Turbo, or V6
529 = ratio
337 is the match pair number
2.460 is depth of pinion
304 Could be backlash, but not sure on that one without the directions

Hey Paul. Whats up? I thought you might have been out of town or something.

No big rush. I'd like to wait for the snow to melt so I can park my truck on the road and pull the 3rds. Plus I don't have the crush sleeves yet, they said they are going to be drop shipped. I have Fri/Sat off.

I'd really appreciate the help. Thanks!

Paul....it's getting warm out now, so sometime soon might be a good time. When are you free? I'm off on fri/sat. Get off at 3 everyday.

Let me know and I'll pull the diffs.

BillaVista did an awsome writeup on doing your own gears over at pirate. While it is not specifically aimed at toys the wisdom carrys over well.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
You guys say one number is the pinion depth. I assume you need to have a tool to set it to those specs? Otherwise its trial and error until the pattern is nice? I will be setting up my diffs myself.
