How do I get this dang thing off? I have a 1990 V6 4runner and Im rebuilding the power steering pump and cant get the pulley off. Any tricks, right now I have it soaking in some WD40. Ive pryed from the back making sure not too bend the pulley and cant get it off. It probablly be a piece of cake with a Pully puller hu??

but I dont see how that would pull a PS pulley.. there are no other holes for screwing in any bolts in the PS pulley? Unless that kit comes with jaws, and your pulling on the outer part of pulley (which I dont know if thats a good Idea or not).
Also the pullers at any automotive parts store have PS pulleys that wont work either b/c they are pulling on a lip on the inside of pulleys, which Toyotas dont have.

Well, I got it. It took 2 pry bars on either side of the pulley and all 215 lbs of my weight. That woudruf key was frozen on there. I also learned a few things. 1. the rebuild kit from Napa. has 1 extra oring and a unused clip and 2. its missing 1 of the proper size o-rings for the inside diameter of the 3rd inner plate.

next time just use the ps puller...hope you didnt bend the pulley

I could not find one anywhere that would work on my PS pulley? Do you have a pic of one, or know where to buy one?

what year is your truck/runner. B/c the ones they had at autozone would not work for my 90 runner. Unless you used a universal puller with the large Jaw like things.

no i used a regular ps puller that grabs it from the flare in the middle of the pulley

hu well that explains why you got yours and I had to pry mine, Mine does not have a flare in the middle. so what year is yours? my runner 90 and no flare as I said, there for I pryed it off, with no damage/bending of the pulley.
