I have a question about the automatic transmission and torque converter in the Gen3. Mine is the 3.2 DiD, but I am pretty sure the transmission/TC must be the same as the ones you guys have Stateside.

The issue is this: When starting the car from cold first thing in the morning, drive is not immediately available. If the transmission is immediately shifted to Reverse after the car is started in order to back out of the garage, it takes a couple of seconds before the vehicle wants to move. This only happens when the vehicle is started from ice cold and not on subsequent starts during the day. I hope I have explained this adequately...

What causes this?

Is it normal? If not, what could be wrong?

The car has been doing this since I bought it in August last year, i.e. the behaviour has not changed or become more noticeable.
