I don't understand how 2 air filters would flow more air. I would think it would flow less. Am I missing something?

does it matter buy a k&n heheh only thing i see is more filter area better flow is not a problem unless u got big v8 like me 3 inch tube for snorke flows plenty of air even with small k&n 5x4 round gets dirty fast but flow under suction of v8 fine 4 cylinder should not see any improvement unless old air filter was plugged anyway interesting probly work great for mud bogging better than pre cleaners plugging up ..lol i'll try it at mud races next time had pre cleaner plug one time and crushed air cleaner eliment and died in middle of run heheh !!

AHH HAA thats what the double gnarley is. yes its carbed.one filter stacked on top of other, extended the stud.not pulling thru the 2" pipe by headlight but from all the way around the filter, top of filter holder sits up 1.5-2" off the bottom piece ,more surface area.mpg up about1-1.5 mpg better.dont know if theres any adverse affect yet.anyway just something to play around with

Okay, I did some digging, and with the help of the guys at ORC (Props to Gnarly4x), found the original post on this. Here it is: http://bbs.off-road.com/ubbthreads/...amp;amp;o=31&fpart=1#Post1069890Haha you can tell how old it is by all the accounts that are now gone. Here another on it: http://bbs.off-road.com/ubbthreads/...p;topic=&Search=true#Post1071760Agreed that the hotness of the air coming in should be a hinderence. But I suppose that if oyu have already opened the back-end (headers, muffler, etc), then getting more volume in WILL help. I suppose the increase in shear volume beats out the heat of it. This really is no diferent than just getting a K7N cone or similar - just a whole lot cheaper.

Colder air is denser then hot air making the burn hotter. That is why in racing cool days are when most records are set. So more volume of hot air is not better then cool air. Cones sitting inside a hot engine compartment may help a bit but they help a whole lot more when they are enclosed and feed by an outside air source.

But even stock you're pulling in hot air. This is just letting you get more of it. [Assuming you've upgraded other things so you can use it] Getting more air is a better situation than getting less air. That is all I meant.
