Agreed that the hotness of the air coming in should be a hinderence. But I suppose that if oyu have already opened the back-end (headers, muffler, etc), then getting more volume in WILL help. I suppose the increase in shear volume beats out the heat of it.
This really is no diferent than just getting a K7N cone or similar - just a whole lot cheaper.
