need some help cause im gonna do a 3.4 swap in my 92 runner that requires 2in lift but otherwise 2 and 4in lift is just not enough i dont really no how the suspension works or what to do i would like to have atleast 10in of lift how would i go about doin this <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

10" of lift on an IFS rig is impossible to get, the most you are going to get is 7-8" which is way more than is needed. Also to be safe that much lift would require widening the track width of your truck by 12 inches, which isn't possible unless you run full size axles.

A 2" bodylift is what you need for the 3.4 or modifying the hood. A suspension lift wont work since it doesn't do anything to increse room for the 3.4.

You should start with deciding what size tire you want to run, and lift the rig as little as possible to clear that size tire withminimal rubbing. With the 2" BL for the 3.4 and a 4inch suspension lift you should be able to clear 35's. With only the 2" BL , 1.5" ball joint spacers, and 2" rear spring lift, you should be able to clear 33's. Running tires bigger than 35's is going to require an SAS(straight axle swap) or a lot of cutting.

sas it w/5 inch springs(trail gear or marlin are a couple choices), you'll be able to fit 40's, and be able to wheel with 36's....if you plan to actually wheel it, the ifs will be a weak point

The 7-8" of lift would be a combo of lifts. It would take a 4" susp. lift, with a 3" body lift, a 1.5" ball joint lift, if needed you could then crank the torsion bars another 2" to achieve the 10" of lift. You would then have a truck that rode like hell and handled even worse.

What size tiore are you planning on running? Are you going to actually use this truck on the trail, or just araound town? These are questions that need to be answered, since a truck as tall as you are suggesting has no purpose being on any trail, it is unsafe.

Hope you have deep pockets and good insurance. I assume you want it to still be street legal? Better check your lift laws.
