IIRC, the total weight with lights and mounts for a shovel was about 30lbs.

I like to use galvanized so when it gets scratched you don't have to worry about it rusting. Of course you do have to watch the fumes, I use a large fan on high to keep from breathing the fumes when welding.

If you don't have a tube bender, you can either buy prebent corners, or for a little more than the cost of the corners, buy a conduit bender(about $25) and bend your own.
