Body Damage is Cool

Welcome to the board and the wonderful world of old Jeeps. My first step when buying a "new" old Jeep would be a complete tune up. I would inspect and replace as needed all wearing ignition parts, plugs, wires, cap, rotor. While I had the plugs out I would check compression to get an idea of engine condition just for kicks. I would change the air and fuel filter and if it's an automatic the filter and oil in the tranny along with both axles and T case to boot. I'd look the engine over real good for rotten/broken vacuum hoses and make sure the orifice in the pcv elbow is not clogged (check the manifold port too). THEN if it didn't run right I'd check for trouble codes and take it from there. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />
