Sounds great. I really want to see the u joint solution. On the u joints you used the joint from the 95 and it fit into the 91 shaft? There must be a diffrence between the years or the swb and long wheel base. There was a definate larger diffrent between the two on my swap. It was a 95 sr going to a 89 swb.

What exactly was off?

On mine, the caps were the same diameter. A small height difference. The caps are not sticking out or pushed in, looks normal. I need to pump some grease in them and make sure the seals are seated correctly. I will get some pics of the gen1 and 95 Ujoints next to each other. I have one of the shafts somewhere. Let me go look.

I just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you.

Since you have disc brakes in the rear what are you going to do about the proportioning valve? If I recall correctly disc brakes use alot more line pressure the drum.

The '94+ SRs had a 3.5L motor. Gearing in these larger axles are 4.636 vs 4.625 for the 3.0L equipped trucks. The '92-'93 SRs had a 3.0L motor with 4.875 gears. I found one without the locker, but they did make them with a locker.

If anyone wants to donate to my Save A Monty fund, I would be glad to perform this upgrade. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/drunk.gif" alt="" />

So this is a little off topic, but would the front gearset from a 92-93 SR with the 4.88 gears fit into a Gen 1 V6 front diff?
