Yes, very close. It is in Starr, SC. It is my dads friends land, he has a few cars and a barn back there. I usually keep my Toyota there too. You better not leave Tahoe and the skiing and the Rubicon, etc.... for Greenville SC. Tellico would only be a 100miles or so away.
It was storming here today, tornado watch too. So it will have to wait.

Finished and drove it today.
I had another couple of minor set backs. The first was a flat tire. I got some sand and dirt in the bead of one of the tires. Leaks very very slowly until it gets to a certain point then it goes flat in minutes. I put the spare on.
Next I got a very lovely and pretty brake bleeder helper to pump my brakes. I got under the truck and said "Ok, pump, stop, stop, stop." The driver side hose had a split in it. I think from moving the axle around. I went to the part store and got all 3 rear hoses. I took off 1 drive shaft bolt from the Toyota. It was too small. These 95SR drive shaft bolts are huge. These rear ends and some of the components are over built for the Montero. Anyway, I go into my stash of misc. parts and bolts and crap and got the 4 bolts from the lower ball joint, fit perfectly. Slightly long, but not too long. I bolted the shaft up, and bled the brakes, and drove off.
I have about 20 miles on it so far. No problems. The stopping power has increased. I like it. The gen2 rear coils are great too.
If I get home early enough tomorrow I will get some new pics. And pics of the Ujoints.

Was yours out of a 3.0l SR or 3.5l?

Hey Sparkem,
I'm thinking about this swap onto my LWB and wanted to ask you a couple of questions if you didn't mind.
Did you use the 95's u-bolts or the ones on your Gen I? Did you need to get the 95's axle or just the U-joint and bolts from the flange? Did you need to get the proportioning valve? Did you get the master cylinder from the 95?
I hope to take the axle off the donor myself, but may not get to do that so I want to know what to ask to keep...
If this makes any sense...

Did you use the 95's u-bolts or the ones on your Gen I? Um U-bolts like on leaf springs? These trucks are coil sprigs. Did you mean U joint? I kept the gen1 drive shaft, left the upper Ujoint and slip yoke in place. I took out the Ujoint from the lower along with the flange. I took out the Ujoint and flange from the 95SR drive shaft and put the gen2 Ujoint with flange still attached into the gen1 shaft. Did you need to get the 95's axle or just the U-joint and bolts from the flange? ? I got the entire rear axle, arms and everything.Like said above you will need the flange from the drive shaft, and get the bolts too. The gen1 drive shaft flange bolts are too small. Did you need to get the proportioning valve? Did you get the master cylinder from the 95?
I did not get either. I am using the stock gen1 v6 stuff already in the 91 LWB. Brake still feels the same, stops better. I like it. I want to get some new pads for the rear. List of things I got from the yard that had the 95. Entire axle wheel stud to wheel stud, with armm, panhard bar, parkng brake cables, and sway bar attached. I got the whole drive shaft. Also got the mini pump for the locker, located under teh pass side middle seat in the drug smuggler compartment. I got rear springs from a different 95SR. I used the shocks already on the gen1, gen2s are different at the top. Everything just bolts up. It just looks cool to take the rear tire off and see a disc. I want some gen2 front calipers now.

It just looks cool to take the rear tire off and see a disc. I want some gen2 front calipers now. I agree. Now no mud caked up in your brakes, and Easy to Service!! I still don;t understand how you got the DS to hook up.

This is great! Thanks for getting this done. My current brakes are pretty weak... with new front calipers/rotors(that was fun)/master cylinder/2 new rubber lines... and... there's a sloppiness in the rear end of my 89 LWB that could use some attention, not to mention a forward to reverse clunking that's plagued this truck since I got it 7 years ago... that has been somewhat diagnosed from the good folks here as a possible LSD and/or rear bearings(fun) issue... If I'm able to get a 95 SR rear end (with all the extra goodies) from a wreckers and I'd be well equipped. Landraider, what dont you understand, the process and parts swapped or how mine worked but others have not?
