Couple years ago, I picked up an '83 SR5 with a toolbox in the bed and a full set of mounted winter tires--had the thrust washers sitting in the oil pan for $500.

A long block is going to cost you around $1600, unless you can find one here, given that you do NOT have a rebuildable core to turn in to someone.
