What is the asking price?

If it only has surface rust and it is dent free, $1k isn't a bad price, not here in CA anyways. I paid $1k for this '91 2yrs ago.

It had a hole in the #4 piston, a huge dent in the side of the bed, dents in the cab, both fenders, both bumpers were bad, a cracked windshield, an interior that hadn't been cleaned in atleast 10yrs, and the seats were both beyond keeping. I originally had planned to rebuild and resale it, but after assessing the costs I decided it would be better to build it for the trail.

Here in CA, clean, complete 3rd gen rigs with bad engines can go for $2500, and are rarely found for under $2k. You can come across one every now and then, but it is usually gone as soon as the add is posted.

You don't have to buy a new engine, I would look for a good used one, or one that needs to be repaired and rebuild it, you can usually find used working endines for under $600, and ones needing rebuilds under $300. A complete rebuild kit from their master engine kit runs $219.

More than tread lightly. Leave it like you were never there, nor anyone else.
