Like the title says, what size tire can I fit on a 98 TJ with a 2 inch lift?

31 definately, 32 but might rub a bit when mashed into the wheel well.

hm..seems pointless then, as I have 31's on it already with no lift at all.

Well then 2" lift should allow 33's if you don't rub with 31's when it's stuffed up in there. Mine just make it with the BB and BL when it's got a wheel off the ground sitting on one tire - esp. if it's a rear tire.

the 31's dont rub at all, and even look small for it. Me and my dad figure we could fit 32's in it with no problem of rubbing and still have some articulation.

Im wondering if maybe I already have a kit on it and just dont know it? I dont see anything out of the ordinary, and the owner didnt mention anything about it.

If it's already got a BB (budget boost), you will see a poly-type 2" spacer between the top of the springs and the spring seat. It's easy to see on the front. My '98 runs 31's with a 2" spacer and there is tons of room, could prolly run 33's without much problem.

'98 TJ, 4 cyl., auto
31" AT KO's on rockcrawlers,
custom bumpers, Hellas
2" Teraflex lift, no top,
no doors, no problem.

Black or Red are the most common colors for the spacers that I've seen. Depends on the brand of the lift.
