The engine was already running, and there was ice on the windshield. The wipers did not move -- she went outside and freed them from the ice. Now the windshield wiper motor runs, but the wipers don't move -- even after being freed from the ice. I figure something has come lose, or stripped -- any suggestions greatly appreciated -- it's 17 degrees, and this is her daily driver so I have to get it fixed! Thanks! The rod that goes from the wiper motor over to the first wiper has snapped the end off at "eye". I need that rod, with both ends! I rigged something up for the time being, but it won't last very long. Nobody would happen to have one of these rods they would sell????? Any help appreciated! I was driving home in snow storm and had my wipers on and didn't think to turn them off when I parked it so when I started it up in the morning to warm it up there was a foot of snow on them and the didn't move. Even after I moved all the snow off of it they wouldn't go but when I shut it off then restarted it all of a sudden they started working again. Leason learned.
