Body Damage is Cool
This morning when my wife got in the Kia (2000 Sportage) she accidently hit the windshield wiper lever. The engine was already running, and there was ice on the windshield.

The wipers did not move -- she went outside and freed them from the ice.

Now the windshield wiper motor runs, but the wipers don't move -- even after being freed from the ice. I figure something has come lose, or stripped -- any suggestions greatly appreciated -- it's 17 degrees, and this is her daily driver so I have to get it fixed!

Thanks!

Lee

I went out and found the problem. The rod that goes from the wiper motor over to the first wiper has snapped the end off at "eye". I need that rod, with both ends!

I rigged something up for the time being, but it won't last very long.

Nobody would happen to have one of these rods they would sell?????

Any help appreciated!

Lee

Need a Spot
I did something similar. I was driving home in snow storm and had my wipers on and didn't think to turn them off when I parked it so when I started it up in the morning to warm it up there was a foot of snow on them and the didn't move. Even after I moved all the snow off of it they wouldn't go but when I shut it off then restarted it all of a sudden they started working again. Leason learned.
