Nobody's trying to sell you a Rubicon! It's simply a matter of seeing the forest instead of each tree. You made a mistake purchasing a Jeep with a four cylinder engine where it obviously doesn't fit your needs. It seems you are attempting to deny your obvious "buyer's remorse" due to your affinity for Jeeps. The advice given you above, directly or indirectly, is pretty good. Dollars are important to you, and others, too. It would obviously be less expensive to simply purchase a vehicle that fits your needs rather than rebuild (destroy) a perfectly good Jeep. The four cylinder Jeeps are adequate for mild offroad applications, but are almost always found by owners to be underpowered for todays highways, as you have found out. You're not alone, I would venture that a good portion of the posts about Jeeps on 4x4wire are in regard to increasing the horsepower of the 4 cylinder engine. As discussed above, slamming an small block V8 engine into the 2006 TJ (doesn't matter whether it's a 6 or 4 cylinder engine) isn't a simple matter, nor inexpensive. I hope my note has cooled your exhaust just a little so you can see the sound advice the posters above have given you to keep you from heading into an unsound, expensive project. Best to you, and good luck with what ever you decide to do. I'm still trying to understand what you meant by "y the hell would i go for a rubicon when i would end up replacing all the addons that go with it anyways?" <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />
