What a MAROON! This guy reminds me of a joke that was sent to me this week:
Redneck 911 Call
A couple of redneck hunters are out in
the woods when one of them falls to the ground.
He doesn't seem to be breathing
and his eyes are rolled back in his head.
The other redneck starts to panic, then
whips out his cell phone and calls 911.
He frantically blurts out to the operator,
"O my gawd! Help! My friend just died.
He's Dead! What can I do?"
The operator, trying to calm him says,
"Take it easy. I can help.
Just listen to me and follow my instructions.
First, lets make sure he's dead."
There's a short pause, and then the operator hears a loud gun shot!!!
The redneck comes back on the line and says, "OK, now what?"
Okay, blackpenut purchased a $14-18,000 plain jane Jeep simply to install a V8 engine; he already has "high clearance axles" to install, and plans to upgrade the driveshafts and install a lift. He just doesn't have a clue how to adapt the engine to the tranny-transfer case he's planning on using (BTW, JeePete listed one of the best sources for this information). No big deal! We probably shouldn't be denigrating blackpenut's plans, after all, we all have seen other similar buildups in many 4x4 rags! I say, to each his own project.
It would be interesting to know, blackpenut, how you intend to use this monster Jeep you're building? You must live east of the Mississippi River, I'm guessing, where you're considering a carburetor rather than EFI? If you were building a serious rockcrawler, you would know better than attempt to climb a near vertical slope with a carbur-ated engine. Anyway, it'll be interesting to see the dash you'll build in the module-style TJ. Seriously, send pictures, please, of the finished project!
GreyScar, are you positive this guy isn't your 3rd or 4th cousin?
