Yes, there should be *some* space between the Idler Arm and the Sector Shaft Cylinderà (roughly) an 1/8 to a 1/4 of an inch (give or take).



This probably only applies if youÆve been 4-wheeling yours pretty hard, but hereÆs another possibilityà

If you are seeing a ælobe-likeÆ movement, where the Idler Arm seems to be moving up-and-down while the steering is in motion (rather than making a clean & even / side-to-side sweep), itÆs possible that you might have a bent Sector Shaft and therefore would need to replace your Idler Relay Lever.
